A Bike Ride & A Small Goodbye

In a few hours, I'll be walking my daughter, Christiana (pictured above) down the aisle to be married to Patrick. For the past several months, friends and family have asked, "How are you doing with giving her away?"

’73 ItalVega “Super Record”…kinda Pt 3

When I was refurbishing this bike, I never in my wildest dream expected it to ride and perform like it is.

1973 ItalVega “Super Record”…kinda Pt.2

Remodel Parameters In moving forward, I had two guidelines: Be true to the original Italian design & components. Honor Mr. Chaney's setup as much as possible. One reason I say this bike is "like" an original Super Record is that as described in my last post, Mr. Chaney opted to switch out some components. To … Continue reading I Am KOM!

At club rides, I stood out like a sore thumb which sparked a teasing frenzy from my younger compadres... "Nice jacket, old man! When are you going to join … Continue reading Cold Weather Cycling: Jacket

Cold Weather Cycling: Footwear

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! I know I did. I even got some miles in, but that was when temps were around 40-45°. Today, a cold front has most of America in the teens while here in Tennessee it's in the low 30's. Back in the day, I would have braved the chill and … Continue reading Cold Weather Cycling: Footwear
